shall I gaze skyward at thy greatness comforted
by the grandeur of thy state buildings And
though our towers did crumble upon my brethren
still
do I faithfully turn my face to you for protection For
I am thy loyal citizen Thou
art my omnipotent government And
never shall I doubt thy wisdom Faithfully
then shall I send forth my children my
sons and my daughters to your great and wise discretion to
the holy war to which thou hast bound our great nation That
we may be forever safe from the enemies which
you, in your great wisdom hath
defined for us Always
shall I remain vigilant Ever
watchful of my neighbors of
the misguided and the disloyal malcontents whose
seditious and secretive mutterings blaspheme your wisdom For
they are but infections on your newly ordered and
greater society And
fitfully then shall I sleep as
a babe in the crib Dutifully
rising in the morn to
gratefully praise thy holy governance over my life For
I know that I need not trouble myself with worry I
need pose no question Nor
bear any thought For
in your supreme wisdom of your governance shall I forever trust
