The 1999 Reunion took place on a typical hot and muggy Tennessee summer day. The Union Hall, though, was spacious and cool. Eighty names were signed on the register, but if all the children were counted, the total number would be more like 100.

There were many new faces and many faces from previous reunions. And they were all happy faces.

There were several displays of family documents, pictures and other memoriabilia .

The first order of business was a great noon meal. Any gathering of Derryberry's seems to be accompanied by a lot of good food. And the catfish topped all off.

Next were the door prizes. And there was a table full;from Goo Goos to a country ham. And my Dad's candlestick holders of course.

There was "business" also. Here are the voted items:

    1. The existing officers will remain in office for one more year.
    2. The 2000 Reunion will be held in Columbia due to the mellieum.
    3. The reunion will be held on the third or fourth Saturday in July depending on availability of the Union Hall.
    4. The 2001 Reunion will be held in Oklahoma on the fourth Saturday of July.

There were other items discussed. There was interest in more copies of Bob Derryberry's first edition book and a list of six names was collected. This is not enough to support another printing and Bob has said he will not produce a second edition. No decisions made at this time, but food for thought.

There was a proposal to investigate the status of the Adam House. A committee will be appointed for that purpose.

I asked if there was interest in receiving Bob Derryberry's internet newsletter in the regular mail. Nine address were collected and I'll arrange to duplicate and mail these.
