WZRD Radio (88.3 FM), with a D.J. Cathleen Schandelmeier-Bartels, had a lengthy interview with Janet Kuypers 9/27/14, where she talked about the inspiration for the release of her new poetry book set, for both “Partial Nudity” and “Revealed” (two large volumes that were also broken down into smaller editions of books, including “100 Haikus”, “Give me the News” (of news poems and newsworthy poems), “Let me See you Stripped”, “Twitterati” (of twitter-length poems, “Part of my Pain”, “Rape, Sexism, Life & Death” (poetry on both sexism and almost losing your life, with Slovak translations of some poems), “Say Nothing”, and “when you Dream tonight” (of poems about dreams, including some classic dream poetry). During this interview, she also read never-before-performed haiku poems from her 2014 release of “Partial Nudity” (and most of the haiku poems were also in the mini book “100 Haikus”).
Janet Kuypers was highlighted 11/21/14 with a feature poetry reading through Café Cabaret at Cafe Ballou (939 N. Western Ave. in Chicago). Her slated selections of poetry included all brand-new and many never before read poems (all quite emotional, relating to current topics like the Ebola virus, of the death of family members), interspersed with haiku poems Kuypers has never read before (all from her recent collection book Partial Nudity, that all also appear in her 2014 mini-book 100 Haikus).
Located at Wrigley Field (in Chicago, Illinois) Janet Kuypers read poetry in an effort to get poetry out into the streets for the Chicago 2015 Poetry Bomb — too often writers read their work at poetry open mics and features, but things poetic can be seen everywhere in the world… This is why in this repeating annual venture, poets go out somewhere where people usually don’ read poetry, to perform it for people that are otherwise going about other business).
The day of the reading, Kuypers also released (via Scars Publications, as a supplement release to cc&d magazine) a chapbook that she titled “Bases Loaded” an online PDF file chapbook the day of the event of the 2015 Poetry Bomb (available as a free download any time).
