Watercolor on Arches Paper
30" x 22"
A study of the tension between shape and color
This painting inspired the following poem by Marylin McIntyre:
I Study Red and Yellow #10
jonah's whale heaves the fire
to walk heaven's rainbow ladder
golden dolphin, glowing waves
autumn leaves, lemons, oranges
swirl in tragic flames
pomp and circumstance
drag pageantry into hell
if the end of the world is
to be this wondrous
let the millennium begin
let the fires rage
let the waltz of death
glide across the sky
chariots of gold, beholden.
