by Joan Pond
I never liked the statue of Queen Victoria.
It was cracked and green with moss,
as something from 'Alice in Wonderland'.
But Matthew said
it was from Buckingham Palace
and he wouldn't part with it.
So, when I was in the garden,
I kicked the Queen,
and off came her head.
It rolled down the hill
and rested in the rosebed.
I waited for Matt to ask.
And then I'd say,
Oh yes,
I always did like
Marie Antionette
in the garden.
